This session will be looking at methods that have been successful in creating the change from outreach to new audiences.

An opportunity to explore how families involved in outreach or education work can be supported to make the journey into your venue as new audiences.  As well as looking at the particular needs of families, this session will focus on methods of engagement which can have impacts over the long term and the challenges involved. South London Gallery staff, volunteers and local audiences will join us to share stories, experience and insight from their partnership with the neighbouring Sceaux Gardens Estate.

By the end of the session you will be able to:

  • recognise how to successfully engage family audiences
  • describe methods of engagement that have succeeded over the long term
  • analyse the challenges of achieving engagement over the longer term
  • reference good practice case studies in London
