Museums and Heritage Show: audience development seminars

The Audiences London team curated and delivered a series of audience development seminars at the Museums and Heritage Show at Earls Court, London on Wednesday 11th May 2011. Seminars covered a range of topics, from audience profiling to youth engagement and more.

The Museums and Heritage Show is the UK's leading annual industry event, attended by more than 4000 delegates from across the museums, heritage and visitor attractions sectors. Audiences London's seminar stream was designed to help delegates understand who their visitors are in order to match their marketing offer to their interests and expectations and engage with them more successfully.

Sessions covered a range of topics, and were delivered by Audiences London staff and a number of guest speakers, as follows:

  • Working together to monitor and measure (Sangeeta Sathe, Marketing and Communications Manager, South London Gallery with Sarah Boiling, Deputy Chief Executive, Audiences London)
  • Nuanced visitors: working with segments (Karen Cardy, Marketing and LSO St Luke’s Centre Director, London Symphony Orchestra with Sarah Boiling, Deputy Chief Executive, Audiences London)
  • Just visiting: tapping in to the tourist market (Susanna Mann, Business Development Manager, Royal Collection with Penny Mills, Director of Client Services, Audiences London)
  • Engaging young people (Alistair Raphael, Head of Arts, Royal Parks in conversation with Helen Ball, Head of Engagement Services, Audiences London)
