Audiences on Tour Home
Audience development is especially challenging in touring situations, requiring a good understanding of audiences and their needs, and co-operation between venues and promoters to gather intelligence and meet those needs. These Guidelines were commissioned by Arts Council England and are being developed through consultation with practitioners, based on our experience working with a wide variety of touring companies. They are aimed at performing arts companies but many of the principles and tools are relevant for visual arts and others.
